Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a vigilant security officer to protect patients, staff and visitors. The role involves responding to emergencies, maintaining safety, and upholding posted security procedures in a busy healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and may have prior security/public safety experience. Candidates must meet licensing requirements and participate in ongoing training as directed.

Formación

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• No experience required; 2 years in general security/public safety is preferred.
• Licenses and certifications are required or preferred per Piedmont policy.

• Serve as first responder to all emergency incidents within the facility and de-escalate critical events with sound judgment.
• Maintain awareness of security procedures and coordinate with other teams as needed.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 2 years experience in general security, military or other public safety experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
