POSITION SUMMARY:
The Goodman Public Safety Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Attends daily roll call briefings regarding safety-related information.
- Attends debriefs with those involved in critical incidents to review tactical considerations.
- Ensures the next shift is adequately briefed on all necessary incidents involving operational safety.
- Completes daily logs and incident reports.
- Ensures common areas, parking lots, and properties are routinely inspected for safety hazards and/or damage to property and/or signs.
- Completes necessary reports for repair and/or replacement of public safety-related equipment, in a timely manner, to the Director/Chief of Public Safety.
- Collaborates with contractors to preserve traffic flow and public safety.
- Develops relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to facilitate additional resources and collaboration as needed.
- Maintains operational awareness of local events and issues concerning any Goodman Realty Group property, including new security measures, civil liability issues, Homeland Security bulletins, among others.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Sergeant of Public Safety and/or their designee.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE):

- Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience performing the essential functions of this position. (Military, security, retired law enforcement strongly encouraged to apply.)

- Willingness to obtain and maintain Level 3 New Mexico Security Officer certification.
- Willingness to carry and deploy a firearm in defense of human life.
- Commitment to quarterly firearms training to ensure proficiency.
- Ability to conduct interviews, write factual reports, and interact with law enforcement.
- Ability to follow the chain-of-command and obey written and verbal orders.
- Willingness to prioritize the needs of others to ensure safety.
- Ability to perform dynamically in rapidly evolving dangerous situations.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license, vehicle insurance, good driving record, and reliable vehicle.
