Job summary

The Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) seeks a Leadership Coordinator to design and deliver leadership development training for public safety professionals statewide. You will assess resources, guide advisory groups, and produce evaluative reports on program status and curriculum updates.

Applicants should have substantial leadership training experience in public safety, with a proven ability to coordinate across agencies and travel statewide to deliver

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of professional level experience related to the leadership development, frontline supervision and organizational management and/or based on ORS 181.610 through 181.690.
• Typically, this experience is in public safety (law enforcement, corrections, parole/probation, fire service, telecommunicators or EMS).
• Experience must include delivering structured training sessions or on-the-job training.
• College coursework related to instruction may substitute up to three years.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and deliver public safety leadership training across Oregon.
• Assess resources and cost effectiveness for training programs and projects.
• Guide and counsel advisory groups, contractors and students for optimum performance.
• Provide evaluation reports with curriculum development recommendations.
• Facilitate workgroups and research, develop, implement and evaluate leadership training.
