Job summary

State of Rhode Island seeks an Operations/Maintenance Coordinator for the Department of Public Safety. You will assist with capital projects, maintenance operations, and compliance with purchasing regulations across facilities.

Responsibilities include budget monitoring, coordinating with DCAMM, and supervising vendor work. Requires HVAC/plumbing knowledge and a driver’s license. On-call for emergencies and a focus on safety and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Understanding of repairs and maintenance of public facilities.
• Ability to develop project work orders, budgets, and expenditure forecasts.
• Ability to read blueprints and building plans.
• Knowledge of purchasing, budgeting, and data tabulations.

Responsibilities

• Review financial data and assist with Maintenance Unit budgets.
• Process invoices and ensure PO compliance.
• Prepare construction and renovation budgets with DCAMM and Central Management Office.
• Coordinate with A&E firms for capital projects.
• Maintain files for requisitions, payments, and invoices.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of facilities and safety standards.
