The City of Cathedral City is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher II to join our team. This position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to grow within our public safety communications division.

Salary ranges from $64,256 to $84,109 per year, with certs and training required. The city provides health benefits, retirement, and ongoing professional development.

Competenze

• High school diploma and one year of public safety dispatch experience.
• P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate required.
• EMD Certification must be completed within one year of hire.

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the qualifying knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain these qualifications would be:

• PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER II (Range 750)
• $64,256 - $84,109 per year
• Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on the position requirements and successful candidate's qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.

Training And Experience

Any combination of training and experience that provides the above listed knowledge, skills and abilities may qualify. A typical way of qualifying would be:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of public safety dispatch experience
• Must possess P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher Basic Certificate
• Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification must be completed within one year of hire
• Possession of a Communications Training Officer Certificate from P.O.S.T. or willingness to attend a 40-hour Communications Training Officer course within 6 months of appointment to the position is required
• Typing speed 35wpm

Other Requirements

• Must be able to pass a background investigation
• Must be willing to work evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts on a rotation basis
• Must be willing to be called back or held over to maintain minimum staffing levels
• Upon conditional offer of employment, selected candidate(s) will be required to pass a physical and psychological evaluation.
