Qualifications

• One year of work experience involving public contact and record keeping.
• Three years of experience as Public Safety Dispatcher I for Dispatcher II.
• Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Receive and enter calls for police, fire and medical service in CAD.
• Respond to questions and concerns from the general public.
• Maintain accurate data in California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System.

Skills

Knowledge of civil, criminal and municipal provisions

Skill to operate office computers and word-processing applications

Ability to perform complex work with speed and accuracy

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Dispatch Certificate from P.O.S.T.
