Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hospital Emergency Services Dispatcher (EMT) coordinates requests for Public Safety and Fire Safety and LIFE STAR helicopter flight requests. Following established procedures, they prioritize calls, obtain required information, pre-alert teams and notify departments to coordinate rapid responses.

High school diploma is required; EMT license and CAD familiarity are preferred; multitasking in a high-pressure environment is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in Public Safety/EMS/Dispatch preferred.
• Must have valid EMT license recognized by CT state.
• Familiarity with CAD systems and data input is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches requests for hospital Public Safety and Fire Safety Departments.
• Coordinate LIFE STAR helicopter flight requests and ground transport responses.
• Follow established procedures to prioritize requests, obtain information, pre-alert teams, and notify departments.
