Job summary

IXP Corporation is seeking a Telecommunicator to receive emergency and non-emergency calls, screen and dispatch public safety resources, and coordinate with field personnel. The role requires clear English communication, composure under pressure, and familiarity with public safety procedures.

The position supports law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies and reports to the Center Manager. Shift work, overtime, and ongoing professional development are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years paid experience in public safety communications preferred.
• Bi-lingual preferred.
• Any military/armed forces experience must be in commanding control or communications.

Responsibilities

• Processes incoming and outgoing emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatches and communicates with law enforcement, fire and EMS units.
• Provides Manager with input regarding policies and procedures.
• Coordinates with Manager to implement changes in Center procedures.
• Speaks English clearly and verbally communicates effectively.
• Works effectively and calmly in a high stress environment.
