Job summary

NTECC is seeking an Emergency Communications Specialist to receive and process requests for police, fire, and EMS, coordinating with member agencies and the public. This role operates in a fast-paced call center 24/7, prioritizing resources and dispatching responders.

The ECS works independently under supervision, maintains confidential information, and ensures accuracy in CAD/TCIC data, while training others and upholding NTECC values of trust and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: One (1) year of related experience in a customer service environment.
• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Answers emergency and non-emergency call requests for police, fire, and EMS; prioritizes and dispatches responders and resources.
• Relays information to public safety personnel via radio in a concise, organized manner; monitors radio traffic.
• Uses CAD to maintain status and updates for public safety personnel and incidents; notifies supervisors of critical incidents.
• Performs data entries into TCIC/NCIC and coordinates with agencies; supports training and guidance to colleagues.
