Job summary

The Town of Vail is accepting applications for an Emergency Communications Supervisor to oversee the communications center, directing staff and dispatching for police, fire, and EMS in a fast-paced public safety environment.

Based at the state-of-the-art facility in Vail, CO, this role requires strong leadership, precise communication, and the ability to make split-second decisions under pressure to serve the community.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and two years public safety telecommunications experience.
• Valid CCIC OSN.
• EMD and CPR certifications.
• APCO/NENA Training Officer Certification preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct dispatch team in receiving, analyzing, and dispersal of routine and emergency calls.
• Serve as a leader in the Communications Center and the Town Police Department.
• Maintain the communications center schedule and ensure coverage.
• Prepare statistical analyses and records as needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications used in public safety settings.
• Lead and support staff to ensure high-quality emergency communications.
