Indiana University Public Safety in Bloomington, IN is seeking a leader to manage dispatch operations and supervise a team of about 300 staff. The role focuses on achieving department objectives, staffing, scheduling, and staff development to improve public safety services.
The position emphasizes strong communication, collaboration, and professional conduct to support safety across IU campuses and ensure quality control in day-to-day operations.
PUBLIC SAFETY (UA-PSIA-IUBLA)
Indiana University (IU) Public Safety pursues the university's commitment to providing the greatest degree of safety for all members of the IU community, consistent with the university's mission and environment, applicable legal and professional standards, and available resources. IU Public Safety directly oversees areas including the IU Police Department, Emergency Management and Continuity, and Fire Safety and Loss Prevention, operating with a team of approximately 300 dedicated staff on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operational basis across all campuses.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
