Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State, Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation, seeks a Regulatory Enforcement Inspector to help keep business professions safe and responsible. The Scranton Regional Office will cover Lehigh and Carbon counties, with potential assignments across the region.

You will perform compliance inspections, gather evidence, issue citations, prepare reports, interview individuals, and participate in hearings.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations.
• An Associate's Degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Inspections: Visit licensed locations to check adherence to laws, rules, and required documentation.
• Evidence Collection: Gather records, samples, and information to support investigations.
• Citation Issuance: Identify violations and issue citations per procedures.
• Report Preparation: Write inspection and investigation reports summarizing findings and actions.
• Interview Support: Speak with individuals during inspections while keeping information confidential.
• Legal Participation: Attend hearings and provide testimony regarding findings.
