Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Advanced knowledge of electronics, computer networking and RF propagation.
  • CWNA certification or equivalent (e.g., CompTIA) with 1 year to obtain after employment.
  • FCC General Radio/Telephone Operator license or equivalent, with 1 year to obtain after employment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair fixed-end radio, microwave, audio recorders and telecommunications equipment.
  • Evaluate diagnostic reports for trunked radio, phone and microwave systems and take corrective actions.
  • Install and repair fiber optic cable and associated electronics.
  • Support city agencies’ subscriber radio equipment and police communications devices.
