Job summary

County of Marin's Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff Trainee to join our public safety team in Marin County. This role supports field operations and public safety initiatives, with the POST Academy requirement and ongoing training as you progress toward deputy status.

Open and Continuous recruitment, with a thorough background process for qualified applicants. Candidates must meet minimum age and education requirements and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must satisfactorily complete the POST basic course within 12 months of appointment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States under federal law.
• Minimum age: 21 by hire date and 20.5 by application deadline.

Responsibilities

• Join Sheriff's Office operations as a Deputy Sheriff Trainee and complete required coursework.
• Participate in training and recruitment processes as outlined in the recruitment brochure.
