Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking an IT Applications Support Specialist to deliver Level 2 support for a portfolio of cloud applications used in fire service operations, GIS mapping, reporting, and analytics.

The role requires troubleshooting, access management, and coordination with vendors and internal IT teams. Candidates should have 1+ year in application support, strong communication, and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Flexible after-hours support may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in application support or IT support.
• Experience with enterprise applications or cloud-based SaaS platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar applications and workflows quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for SaaS and cloud applications.
• Troubleshoot errors, access issues, workflow failures, and integrations.
• Maintain ownership of incidents through resolution or escalation.
• Monitor recurring issues and suggest improvements for reliability.
• Coordinate with vendors, MSPs, and IT resources to resolve defects and outages.
