OverviewThe Cook County Bureau of Human Resources is seeking a Public Relations Specialist to join our team. This person will oversee internal and external communications, including information to the public, other County Bureaus/Departments, and the press or media-related information on Bureau/Department matters.

Responsible for overseeing internal and external communications, including information to the public, other County Bureaus/Departments, and the press or media-related information on Bureau/Department matters. Collaborate with teammates to manage communication efforts, ensuring accurate and supportive press coverage of Bureau/Department activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and
• Two (2) years of experience in communications or public relations or
• An equivalent combination of professional work experience, training, and education.
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
EMPLOYMENT TERMSRESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: Pursuant to the Shakman Consent Decree, this position is exempt from the County’s career service rules, is at-will and political reasons or factors may be considered when taking any employment action.
