Job summary

Quinnipiac University’s Office of Community Service seeks a SOCT Public Relations Assistant on a Federal Work-Study basis to support media relations, event coverage, and layout tasks. The role involves writing press materials, articles, and ads, plus MAC design and newsletter formatting.

You will attend events, assist with development duties, perform data entry, and handle additional duties as needed, gaining practical communications experience in a student employment setting.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Strong writing and communication abilities for press materials.
• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to work some nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Write Press Releases and Media Alerts for SOCT events.
• Write Articles about SOCT.
• Create & design Advertisements on MAC.
• Assist in layout of SOCT’s newsletter (published monthly).
• Attend events / meetings as requested.
• Assist staff with Development duties.
• Represent SOCT at community events.
• Data entry and other administrative duties as needed.
• Other responsibilities as they develop, based on intern interest areas and organization needs.
