Expect full-time hours in summer and part-time during school terms, starting May 2027. You will track media coverage, assist with press materials, develop media lists, dashboards, and reports, and help with internal news and community initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field.
• Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
• Completed coursework in PR, journalism, or communications.
• Passion for working with the media and communicating in writing.
• Strong verbal and written communication, connect clearly and professionally.
• Skilled in writing, editing and proofing.
• Organizational excellence; manage multiple priorities and details.
• Motivation, proactivity and strategic thinking; eager to learn.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with media-monitoring tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Track coverage across earned media and measure impact against strategies.
• Assist with press releases, media lists, and reprints.
• Support PR reports by leveraging dashboards from trackers.
• Partner with operations on strategic Corporate Communications initiatives.
• Coordinate relevant news postings to websites and social accounts.
• Conduct research for media relations purposes.
• Prioritize media inquiries and fulfill reporter requests.
• Manage creation and execution of internal news stories.
• Assist with community involvement and sponsorship efforts.
• Participate in monthly PR and Marketing & Communications meetings.
• Ensure PR messages align with Baird’s brand and culture.
• Perform other duties to support the team and firm.
