Job summary

Jay Kemmerer WORTH Institute at the University of Wyoming seeks a Coordinator, Area Public Relations to design, coordinate, and implement marketing and communications strategies promoting WORTH programs statewide.

You will manage content across web, print, email, and social, produce graphics and videos, support event promotion, track performance, and handle budgets and vendor relationships, working on-campus in Laramie.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2 years work-related experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite products for graphic design
  • Familiarity with higher education, nonprofit, or tourism/hospitality marketing
  • Strong writing and content creation skills tailored to multiple audiences (students, industry partners, legislators, donors)
  • Experience with digital marketing tools
  • Experience with video production and editing

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that align with the WORTH Institute’s mission and objectives.

JOB TITLE:

Coordinator, Area Public Relations - WORTH(Outdoor Recreation, Tourism, and Hospitality)

JOB PURPOSE:

Design, coordinate, and implement marketing and communication strategies that promote the programs, research, and statewide engagement efforts of theJay Kemmerer WORTH Institute. This position enhances brand visibility, manages digital and print content, supports event promotion, and ensures consistent messaging to students, faculty, industry partners, and the public in alignment with the Institute’s mission to expand and diversify Wyoming’s economy through outdoor recreation, tourism, and hospitality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that align with the WORTH Institute’s mission and objectives. Design, coordinate, and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to increase visibility and impact of WORTH programs and initiatives.
  • Manage content strategy and production across web, print, email, and social media platforms.
  • Design and produce visually compelling graphics, videos, and promotional materials using Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools. Ensure brand consistency across platforms and alignmentwith University of Wyoming standards.
  • Plan and implement marketing strategies for WORTH-hosted events.Coordinate campaigns to increase attendance and engagement among students, faculty, industry partners, donors, and policymakers.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance metrics (e.g., email open rates, website traffic, social media engagement).Generate reports to evaluate campaign success and apply insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness. Communicate outcomes to leadership, funders, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage marketing budgets, contracts, timelines, and vendor relationships.Serve as the primary point of contact for all marketing-related inquiries.
  • Assist with photography, videography, and documentation of WORTH programsand services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:2 years work-related experience

WORK LOCATION:

On-Campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
