Job summary

The California Department of Justice seeks an Analyst II to serve as a Public Records Act (PRA) Coordinator within the California Justice Information Services Division. The role requires independent analysis, the ability to manage deadlines, and strong written and oral communication skills.

You will coordinate PRA responses across programs, maintain confidentiality, and build relationships with a broad set of stakeholders. Hybrid telework with Sacramento location; permanent, full-time, day shift.

Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Supervisor I , t he Analyst II (AN II) serves as a Public Records Act (PRA) Coordinator for the California Justice Information Services Division and the various programs within its bureaus. This requires the AN II to think critically and work independently to review and respond to PRA requests submitted to the Department from a number of entities, private organizations, and the public.

Under the direction of the Supervisor I , t he Analyst II (AN II) serves as a Public Records Act (PRA) Coordinator for the California Justice Information Services Division and the various programs within its bureaus. This requires the AN II to think critically and work independently to review and respond to PRA requests submitted to the Department from a number of entities, private organizations, and the public. The AN II must have the ability to tactfully elicit information and cooperation from Division personnel at varying levels of authority, with stringent deadlines, and must manage and maintain strong relationships with a broad set of stakeholders. The position requires the AN II to be able to reason logically and creatively, utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve complex problems, develop and evaluate alternatives, analyze data and present ideas effectively both orally and in writing, and consult with and advise administrators on subject matter related to the Division’s systems. The AN II must maintain confidentiality and exercise a high level of discretion.
