Job summary

City of New York’s Department of Transportation seeks a Planning, Design and Policy Analyst in the Public Realm Unit to advance neighborhood planning and transportation studies. The role focuses on equity, walkability and greening, with engagement across five boroughs.

Responsibilities include data analysis, project coordination and creating visual materials. A degree in architecture with relevant experience is required; remote work up to 2 days per week is available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in architecture and two years of full-time experience in planning, design, or urban design related to urban development.
Graduate work in architecture, urban design or city planning may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Support neighborhood planning, project coordination, data identification, collection and analysis with emphasis on traffic capacity analyses.
Develop visual aids, maps and diagrams to represent work deliverables and communicate results to stakeholders.
Coordinate projects with DOT units and external partners including NYC Parks, EDC, City Planning and health agencies.
