Job summary

City of New York is seeking a Transportation Specialist to support data analysis within the Public Engagement Group (PEG) for Vision Zero initiatives and Street Improvement Projects in NYC. The role involves outreach analytics, deploying surveys, and coordinating with internal planning units to optimize engagement strategies and KPI tracking.

Preference given to candidates with transportation planning experience and public-sector background, including Open Data, SQL, Python, and data

Qualifications

• Master's degree in transportation engineering, mathematics, urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1 year of tech work in roadway/traffic studies or two years for other bachelor's paths.
• Associate degree or 60 credits with four years of related experience.
• High school diploma with six years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data analysis for PEG and support public engagement analytics.
• Set up deployment logistics with PEC and liaise with internal planning units.
• Perform analyses to aid programmatic planning and KPI tracking for outreach efforts.
• Develop best practices in database management and data visualization for SIPs and Open Streets.
