Westwood Professional Services, Inc. (Westwood) is seeking a Landscape Architecture Intern to join a design team working on streetscape, park, trail, and civic space projects for public infrastructure clients in the Raleigh area.

The role supports site plans, planting and hardscape details, and visualization efforts for client and public agency meetings. Selected candidates will learn to apply ADA standards and local guidelines while collaborating with Senior Landscape Architects and gaining

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Landscape Architecture program.
• Effective written and verbal communication with clients, management, and team members.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Willingness to attend site visits and work outdoors when needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of site plans, grading concepts, planting plans, and hardscape details for public infrastructure and civic space projects.
• Support development of design graphics, renderings, and presentation materials for client and public agency meetings.
• Help research applicable design guidelines, zoning requirements, and ADA accessibility standards to inform design recommendations.
• Develop an understanding of client interests and help identify approaches to address client and community concerns in the performance of project work.
• Actively coordinate with internal and external team members across public infrastructure projects to ensure effective communication and project progress.
• Travel to project sites as necessary to gather field data, take site inventory, and interface directly with clients.
