Job summary

Google in Washington, DC seeks a Mid-level Public Policy Manager for Search to drive policy strategy on personalization, health and finance intersections. You will partner with product, engineering and legal teams to translate policy developments into product guidance and risk management.

Requirements include 7+ years in policy analysis and government/public policy, a Bachelor\'s degree, and experience with data privacy or consumer protection regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns.
• 7 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
• Experience with regulatory issues related to data privacy, content moderation, or consumer protection.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute proactive strategies to manage political risks and address government relations problems.
• Monitor global legislative and emerging policy developments impacting Search to understand business and user impacts.
• Translate policy strategies into execution plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch policy-friendly products.
• Draft policy briefs and narratives explaining Search's value while respecting privacy.
