Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC, AWS Public Policy, is seeking a Senior Manager to represent AWS before state and local policymakers in Ohio. The role focuses on data center infrastructure policy and other IT policy priorities, collaborating with AWS business units and external partners to craft effective advocacy strategies.

The position will lead high-level meetings, coordinate with consultants and trade associations, and build coalitions to advance policy objectives in the state and local government

Qualifications

• Experience in written and oral communication across all levels in an organization.
• Experience working across cross-functional teams and partnering with people at all levels.
• Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders or managing teams.
• Experience engaging on data center infrastructure, energy, land use, utility regulation, or related physical infrastructure policy at the state/local level in Ohio.
• Strong knowledge of advocacy and public policy development for IT issues such as cloud computing, data center siting and permitting, energy policy, data security, procurement, or taxes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing government affairs advocacy objectives and public policy priorities for AWS in Ohio.
• Lead advocacy efforts on data center infrastructure operations and expansion policy to maintain Ohio's competitive position for digital infrastructure investment.
• Develop proactive stakeholder engagement and communications strategies to build state and local support and mitigate reputational risk.
• Identify and communicate state/local/education public sector market opportunities and threats; develop enhancement or mitigation strategies and policy positions; manage external advocacy efforts.
• Facilitate high-level meetings between AWS executives and stakeholders to promote policy positions.
• Leverage industry associations and outside consultants; ensure appropriate utilization of memberships.
• Preferred location is Columbus, Ohio; some travel required.
