Job summary

Town of Flower Mound seeks a library staff member to provide reference and reader advisory services, and assist with planning and presenting library programs. You will help patrons navigate the catalog, collections, and digital resources, and support outreach initiatives.

The role requires strong English communication, the ability to work with a team, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Prior library experience is preferred; an associate degree or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Associates or equivalent experience in a related field required.
• One year of public library experience preferred.
• Must pass post-offer drug test and thorough background checks.
• Able and willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of public library operations and ethics.
• Excellent English communication, oral and written; spelling, grammar, punctuation.
• Proficient with personal computer and office equipment.
• Ability to maintain courteous relations with public and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and reader advisory services to library patrons.
• Instruct in use of Library catalog and resources.
• Assist with planning, promoting, presenting, and evaluating Library programs; outreach services.
• Assist with creating displays and informational materials.
• Support supervisor with departmental planning and reports.
• Follow safety rules and departmental regulations.
