Job summary

Bentonville Public Library is seeking a part-time library assistant to support public services and circulation duties. You will help patrons, process materials, and maintain desk operations under supervisor guidance.

Responsibilities include checking materials in/out, updating library cards, assisting with computer use, and supporting cataloging tasks and meeting room support. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
• Ability to assist patrons with technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the public desk.
• Issues and updates library cards; tenders money; checks out/in materials.
• Sorts, shelves, processes and repairs materials; helps patrons locate materials.
• Supports cataloging tasks, inter-library loan procedures and meeting room assistance.
