Job summary

Handley Regional Library is seeking a customer-service oriented individual to assist the public at the busy public service desk. Occasional night and weekend hours are required.

Hours per week: 20 - 23, Rate of Pay: $15.00/hr. Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, duties include circulation and information services, helping patrons with the catalog, assisting with children's programs, and potentially notarial acts in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with library experience or equivalent.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to operate library computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide circulation and information services at the public service desk.
• Assist with online catalog and patron information needs.
• Support children's programming and displays.
• May serve as Notary Public for Virginia when assigned.
• Cover branch manager duties as needed and escalate issues appropriately.
