Job summary

The City of Conroe seeks a Communications Manager to plan, coordinate and manage the Communications Division and Public Information Office. You will ensure key city messages reach the public and advise staff on community relations issues.

You will develop multimedia for the City, including the website, PEG channel, video services, graphic design and social media, while serving as the primary media liaison and PIO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• Five years' increasingly responsible experience in journalism, communications and public relations; public sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage the operations of the Communications Division and PIO.
• Advise City staff and officials on community relations management.
• Develop and maintain multimedia for the City, including website, PEG channel, video services, graphics and social media.
• Serve as the City's Public Information Officer and primary media liaison.
