Job summary

The SC Commission for Community Advancement and Engagement is seeking a Public Information Coordinator I to plan, edit, and disseminate informational or marketing material for the agency through visual and digital media. This role emphasizes storytelling, graphics, photography, and strategic communications in service to state programs.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or equivalent; transcripts may be required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview.
• A transcript may be uploaded as an attachment to the application if required by the hiring department or desired by the applicant.
• Some areas of the Agency may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring.
• May require some overnight travel and work beyond 37.5 hour/week and could include nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and promote agency programs and activities through traditional and visual/digital media communications.
• Take photos, shoot videos and/or design graphics for agency communications activities and divisions.
• Assist with writing and editing social media captions, closed captions, and other communications for various formats and mediums.
• Assist with the creation of social media content calendars and social media content, as well as scheduling social media postings.
• Assist with the creation of shot sheets, storyboards, print layouts and concepts for graphics branding packages consistent with agency brand standards and in line with the communications strategy.
• Conduct interviews, research topics, and gather information for use in various agency communications.
