Job summary

Kitsap County is seeking an Administrative Program Coordinator & Clerk of the Hearing Examiner to support the Planning Commission and manage the administrative flow of land use hearings, notices, records, and interagency coordination.

You will lead staff, mentor team members, prepare agendas and legal notices, and ensure compliance with county code and laws, enabling transparent, timely decisions and effective public participation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management or related field with relevant office experience.
• Associate's degree with 3+ years of progressively responsible office experience.
• Five years of progressive office experience may substitute education for qualifications.
• Experience coordinating complex administrative programs and public processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day coordination of administrative staff and coverage.
• Mentor administrative team members through meetings and guidance.
• Coordinate workflow among internal stakeholders and staff to meet deadlines.
• Serve as Clerk of the Hearing Examiner and manage public hearing processes.
• Prepare agendas, legal notices, staff reports, and hearing materials.
• Ensure timely publication and distribution of hearing notices and documents.
