Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Polk County is seeking a qualified Environmental Engineer to perform sanitary surveys, data entry, sampling, and enforcement actions for public water systems in Bartow, FL. The role includes coordinating inspections, maintaining records, and supporting Limited Use Water and Pool programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sanitary surveys of public water systems to assure compliance with applicable State and County regulations.
• Maintain records and files corresponding to sanitary surveys; input data into the public water system database.
• Assist with entry of bacteriological and chemical sampling data for Public Water Systems.
• Initiate enforcement action against non-compliant water systems; communicate with owners/operators and perform re-inspections.
• Investigate complaints pertaining to public water systems and collect water samples for analyses as needed.
• Assist with Limited Use Water and Pool Program Inspections and Data entry as needed.
• Training/DARS Submission and Certifications; ensure mandatory trainings completed on time.
• Perform other Environmental Engineering program related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
