Job summary

Florida Department of Health seeks a Human Services Program Consultant I to develop and coordinate the Volunteer Health Care Provider Program (VHCPP) across Region 7 counties. The role requires collaboration with county health departments and external health professionals to recruit, monitor, and support volunteers and providers.

Responsibilities include contract negotiation, license verification, training of CHD volunteers, and producing program reports. Travel about 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public health.
• Knowledge of descriptive statistics and statistical methodologies.
• Knowledge of desktop automation software such as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to work on project teams in a variety of roles to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with public and private organizations, partnerships, and programs.
• Good listening, verbal, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports recruitment of health care providers to participate in VHCPP and helps develop provider understanding of the program.
• Monitors VHCPP providers through QA and monitors eligibility/referral processes.
• Negotiates provider contracts and verifies licenses.
• Trains and supervises Chapter 110 volunteers.
• Maintains a database of providers and volunteers in VHCPP.
• Assists CHDs and provides training to CHD volunteers.
• Provides periodic reports to the Director of the Volunteer Health Services Program.
• Performs emergency duties and assists with credentialing during emergencies.
