Job summary

WiredPeople, Inc. is seeking a Surveillance Epidemiologist to join an interdisciplinary team supporting Florida's public health goals. Remote candidates within Florida are welcome, with a preference for Tallahassee-based work.

You will serve as SME on influenza and respiratory diseases, manage surveillance data, report to CDC systems, and coordinate grants and trainings across county health departments. Strong communication and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • MPH, MSPH, MS, or equivalent degree in epidemiology or health-related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills and understanding of public health surveillance.
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, Access, or R.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME on influenza and other public health diseases.
  • Manage and summarize disease surveillance data from multiple sources.
  • Report Florida’s data to CDC surveillance systems.
  • Respond to inquiries from the media and public.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing and report data to CDC as needed.
  • Provide guidance to CHD epidemiologists and conduct trainings.
  • Coordinate grant-related activities and yearly applications.
