Job summary

City of Canton, Ohio is seeking a Disease Intervention Specialist with integrated clinical nursing capabilities to support prevention and control of STIs, HIV, and other communicable diseases. The role includes field visits, specimen collection, counseling, and case management across a multi-county region.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN, an active Ohio RN license, and a valid driver's license, with strong communication skills and commitment to public health.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Ohio.
• Valid driver’s license.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts disease investigations, interviews cases and contacts, and performs contact tracing.
• Performs field visits to homes, hospitals, and community settings to locate clients and provide services.
• Maintains confidential client records and submits epidemiological data and reports.
• Provides education and guidance to healthcare providers, laboratories, and community organizations.
