San Bernardino County seeks a Public Health Psychiatrist III to lead clinical operations across Federally Qualified Health Centers. The incumbent will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy and medications for adults and/or children/adolescents.
The role includes supervising clinical staff and collaborating with health center leadership to ensure high-quality patient care.
The Department of Public Health (DPH), Clinic Operations is recruiting for a Public Health Psychiatrist III* who functions as a, lead physician assuming medical responsibility for adult and/or child and adolescent patients under their direct care and supervision in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) across the county. Essential duties include conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments/evaluations and mental status examinations (MSEs) of adult and/or child and adolescent patients, providing multi-axial diagnoses according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) approved by the American Psychiatric Association; developing and implementing individualized mental health treatment planning for assigned adult and/or child and adolescent patients; providing competent psychotropic medication treatment and other psychiatric treatments to meet the needs of assigned adult and/or child and adolescent patients; leading lower-level professional and paraprofessional staff, such as clinical therapists, nurse practitioners, and case managers, including assigning and reviewing work, training staff, provide feedback or assist with writing work performance evaluations, participating in the hiring process and assisting with disciplinary actions, lead work responsibilities and decision making at assigned clinics may provide administrative oversight for lower-level professional and, works closely with the health center leadership, especially in discussing clinical and non-clinical issues pertinent to patient care.

Work Schedule: Evening hours may be required to support late clinic operations.
Completion of Residency: Official job offers cannot be made until candidate has verified completion of residency.
Teaching Requirement: Incumbents will be assigned to supervise/teach medical learners.
