The South Dakota Department of Health is offering an Intern - Public Health Preparedness and Response for the Fall session. Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs or more.
• Must be willing to travel throughout South Dakota.
• Preference may be given to South Dakota residents and students of South Dakota institutions.

Responsibilities

• Engage with public health preparedness staff in emergency plan updates, planning meetings, training, exercises, inventory and warehouse management, and ongoing public health emergency responses.
• Gain experience in public health emergency preparedness and lead projects under supervision.
