Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree or phlebotomy/medical assistant training preferred.
• One year of relevant work experience in customer service, communication, or patient interaction required.
• Phlebotomy skills strongly preferred, though not required; training can be provided.
• Reliable automobile with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates STD/HIV testing with clients in community settings, including phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Provides counseling and education about STD/HIV and refers clients as needed.
• Records data accurately in the electronic medical record and other databases.
• Recruits priority populations for testing and services by engaging communities in-person or online.
• Develops expertise in STD/HIV fundamentals, testing, prevention strategies, and cultural competency.
• Maintains a safe working environment and adheres to safety standards.
• May drive the Community Outreach/STD Control Program Mobile Vans; training provided.
• Participates in public health emergency preparedness exercises and response activities.
• Participates in HOPE events annually totaling at least eight hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
