Job summary

The Florida Department of Health seeks a Health Education Program Consultant to advance chronic disease prevention, coordinate outreach events, and strengthen partnerships across counties.

The role requires managing messaging with the Public Information Officer, maintaining Health Education & Promotion (HEP) inventory, and guiding Wellness Wave and HCF initiatives to improve community health and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health or related field.
• Experience in planning, evaluation, research, or program management preferred.
• Ability to coordinate outreach events and manage logistics.
• Knowledge of health messaging standards and working with the Public Information Officer (PIO).

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, and coordinates outreach and community events.
• Coordinates outreach announcements and staff assignments.
• Documents outreach activities using the Event Tracker App and produces reports.
• Builds and maintains community partnerships.
• Maintains Health Education & Promotion materials inventory and ensures accuracy.
• Goes to internal program coordination and staff training.
• Implements quality improvement and compliance activities.
• Supports Wellness Wave initiatives and community health messaging.
