Salary Range: $31.68 - $41.58 / hour

As part of Mecklenburg County Public Health, you will become a subject matter expert in public health, which involves promoting health, researching disease prevention, and responding to infectious diseases.
This public health nurse may work in office, clinical, or community settings, including schools. Responsibilities include assessing health problems, developing care plans, administering nursing care, advising on health maintenance, and providing care management.
All Registered Nurses in the department are considered Public Health Nurses and may provide services during public health emergencies, including immunizations, mass medication distribution, and health services in shelters.
Knowledge of laws, nursing techniques, medical terminology, public health principles, anatomy, hygiene, growth and development, and epidemiology.
Skills include prioritizing work, managing multiple tasks, maintaining confidentiality, administering medications, working with diverse populations, and using electronic health records.
Abilities include applying new information, building trust, managing patient care, effective communication, decision-making, and patient education.
Office setting with moderate noise.
