Wilson County Government is seeking a Public Health Nurse II to enhance community health through various medical programs. The role includes nursing responsibilities across Family Planning, Maternity, and Infection Control, requiring a B.S. in Nursing and experience in Public Health Nursing.
The mission of the Wilson County Health Department is to improve health, prevent disease, protect against environmental hazards, and promote health equity for all.
A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the N. C. Board of Nursing is required for this position.
Compensation: The starting salary for a fully qualified Public Health Nurse II begins at $63,096 + a competitive benefits package.
Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Extended hours and weekend work may be requested or required for special events and/or programmatic needs.
This position serves as the nursing coordinator and resource person for Employee Health, Infection Control, OSHA, and Sickle Cell Programs within the Health Department. Responsibilities include providing nursing services across various medical programs, including:

Qualifications include graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. in Nursing (including a Public Health Nursing rotation) and one year of Public Health Nursing experience, or a Master’s in Public Health with professional nursing experience, or equivalent training and experience. A current North Carolina RN license is required.
