Job summary

Grant County Health Department is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to provide nursing services in clinic and community settings, including immunizations, screenings, specimen collection, and health education. The nurse will collaborate with individuals, families, schools, and partners to improve access to public health services.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, a Kansas RN license, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Kansas.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within department timeframe.
• Knowledge of nursing practice, infection prevention, vaccine administration, and public health.
• Strong computer, documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations.
• Experience with phlebotomy, immunizations, EHR, and patient education preferred.
• Public health or community health experience preferred.
• Must pass drug test and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Administer immunizations and perform health screenings in clinic and community settings.
• Perform nursing procedures and collect laboratory specimens.
• Provide health education and referrals to services.
• Support communicable disease prevention and investigation.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, schools, and partners to improve access to services.
• Additional duties as assigned.
