Maricopa County Department of Public Health is seeking a Medical Assistant – STI & HIV to support clinicians by preparing patient rooms, performing venipuncture, immunizations, and taking patient history to facilitate evaluation.

The position requires an accredited Medical Assistant program completion, a high school diploma or GED, and potential national certification. Travel and exposure to clinical environments are possible as part of routine duties in our community health clinics.

Formación

• Certificate of completion from an accredited health care training program as a Medical Assistant.
• High School diploma or GED.
• National Certification as a Medical Assistant (optional but valued).

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patients for their appointments by accompanying them to the examining room and facilitating patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture, drawing blood, injections, and basic clinical tasks as directed.
• Document patient care in electronic medical records and ensure records are complete.
• Assist clinicians with examinations and order diagnostic tests or treatments as needed.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and assist with patient education and after-visit summaries.
• Record and communicate lab results to ensure timely entry into the patient chart.
