Job summary

CDPHE's Colorado Public Health Laboratory director provides regulatory, scientific, and operational direction for the laboratory and oversees nearly 140 staff with a $45 million budget. The role aligns strategic, scientific, and systems thinking to ensure quality and compliance across multiple programs and services.

The director leads modernization efforts, collaborates with the CEO/Senior Executive Team, and supports change management while coordinating testing services and emergency response

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or DPM degree OR PhD/doctoral degree in chemical, biological, or laboratory science.
• Four or more years of experience in a laboratory executive role, managing staff and a budget.
• A complete application packet must include: Colorado application, resume, cover letter, transcripts or diploma, and if veteran, DD214.
