Job summary

Qualifications

• Preferred Microbiology and Chemistry coursework from a U.S. accredited college or university.
• Experience in clinical, research or environmental laboratory is preferred.
• Experience checking in, receiving or accessioning of samples is preferred.
• Experience working with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Checks in specimens and samples received at the laboratory including microbiological, clinical chemistry, and environmental specimens/samples.
• Assist team leader in investigating causes for errors and training new employees.
• Submit specimens to CDC and other laboratories, preparing proper shipping packages meeting IATA rules.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers and obtain missing information.
• Comply with all guidelines to ensure a safe functioning laboratory and participate in COOP activation.
