Job summary

South Dakota State Government invites students to apply for the Summer Internship in Infrastructure and Accreditation housed under the Department of Health. The role supports efforts to pursue initial public health accreditation and involves communication, reporting, and program development across multiple programs within the Office of Infrastructure and Accreditation.

Applicants must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student, having completed at least one year of their program.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program.
• Preference may be given to junior/senior students, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop public and partner awareness communications, reports, resources trainings, program recommendations, and initiatives related to infrastructure and accreditation activities.
• Engage with multiple programs within the Department, including OIA areas such as community engagement, workforce development, quality improvement, tribal relations, and population health.
• Exhibit leadership and demonstrate aptitude for critical and creative thinking.
