Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an Associate Public Health Informaticist to support public health data exchange, interoperability, and surveillance modernization within our Health AI/Data practice. You will help design, implement, test, document, and operate public health information systems and data exchange workflows with epidemiologists and technical teams.

The role involves requirements gathering, workflow mapping, testing, and documentation, plus collaboration to improve data quality and reporting

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Health Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1+ years' experience in public health informatics, health IT, interoperability, or surveillance systems.
• Familiarity with HL7, CDA, FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED CT, or ICD.
• Experience supporting requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, or technical documentation activities.

Responsibilities

• Support public health informatics activities related to data exchange, surveillance, interoperability, and system modernization.
• Assist with requirements gathering, workflow documentation, business process analysis, and data flow mapping.
• Support implementation and testing of HL7, ELR, eCR, and related data exchange processes.
• Assist with validation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of health data exchange workflows.
• Develop and maintain implementation guides, mappings, interface specifications, and technical documentation.
• Analyze healthcare and public health data flows to identify opportunities for interoperability and automation.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, onboarding activities, and issue resolution.
• Support data standards implementation and documentation efforts.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, informaticists, developers, and public health stakeholders to improve data quality and reporting processes.
• Support training, technical assistance, and stakeholder engagement.
