Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Public Health Informaticist to support surveillance systems, interoperability initiatives, and health data modernization programs. This role bridges public health operations and technology through the design, implementation, and optimization of public health data exchange solutions and standards-based interoperability architectures.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years in public health informatics or related field.
• Experience implementing HL7 v2, ELR, eCR, CDA, FHIR or similar standards.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Experience with public health surveillance systems and health information exchanges.
• Citizenship or residency with ability to obtain public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead public health informatics workstreams supporting surveillance, interoperability, and modernization.
• Analyze and optimize information flows, surveillance reporting, and interoperability workflows.
• Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, system analysis, and business process improvement.
• Design and support HL7 v2, ELR, eCR, CDA, FHIR and related exchange solutions.
• Develop implementation guides, use cases, data mappings, workflow specs, and integration docs.
• Support onboarding, testing, validation, and operationalization of data exchange capabilities.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, technical teams, and stakeholders to improve data quality and timeliness.
• Support data standards governance and modernization roadmaps.
• Provide technical assistance to public health organizations and partners.
• Contribute to future-state architecture planning and interoperability strategies.
