Job summary

DecisionPoint Corporation seeks a Planning Coordinator in Atlanta, GA to provide comprehensive planning and operational support during public health IMS activations across preparedness, response, and recovery.

This 100% in-person role may allow occasional telework with approval. You will develop planning documents, IAPs, SITREPs, briefings, and SOPs while ensuring alignment with NIMS and public health frameworks.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree with 4 years' experience in emergency management or equivalent; seven years' experience in emergency management and 2 years in public health emergency management may substitute.
• Demonstrated experience in emergency management, public health preparedness, or incident management.
• Working knowledge of ICS/IMS, NIMS, and public health emergency frameworks and doctrine.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively in briefings and written products.
• Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills; coordinate across multiple time zones; readiness for IMS activation and surge support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain public health emergency response plans and annexes.
• Support the Planning Section during IMS activations as the Documentation Desk.
• Develop Planning Section documentation (IAPs, SITREPs, transition planning, SOPs) and planning templates.
• Develop, update, and maintain all-hazards public health emergency response plans and annexes.
• Support development and updates to IAPs, transition planning, and Planning Section documents.
• Ensure alignment with national frameworks (NIMS, NS frameworks).
• Maintain planning documentation consistent with federal preparedness and response standards.
• Provide direct support to Planning Section during IMS activations, exercises, and steady-state operations.
• Assist in development and dissemination of SITREPs, IAPs, and planning meeting materials.
• Collect, validate, and synthesize data to support situational awareness.
• Produce written and visual products for leadership decision-making.
• Maintain documentation and records of response activities per SOPs.
• Ensure quality control and accuracy of all planning and reporting products.
