Job summary

New Mexico Department of Health in the Northwest Region is seeking a Maintenance & Repair Worker-A to support day-to-day building maintenance, minor repairs, and fleet upkeep for two mobile health units. Travel throughout the NW Region is required to deliver essential public health services.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in basic electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and fleet management, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of maintenance/grounds experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, painting or carpentry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance of facilities and systems to keep them safe and operational.
• Assemble and move furniture and equipment for offices and workspaces.
• Maintain fleet and mobile health units; coordinate with vendors for complex repairs.
• Provide grounds upkeep, snow removal, and general logistical support.
